You have to have a credit card to create an itunes store account, without which you cannot download album artwork. I forgot which email address I used for my existing account, so I had to create a new one. It’s impossible to do without a credit card. However, there is a workaround.

Apple allows you to use your paypal account instead of a credit card. So you go make another paypal account. Then it gives you some bullshit about the partner requiring you to have a payment method on file. Ok, so you add your debit card to your paypal account. You then complete the itunes store account creation and return to your paypal account and delete the debit card. Problem solved.

You still have to have a credit or debit card to create an itunes store account, but you only put the info in long enough to make the account, delete it, and then it’s not kept on record. Whether or not apple checks periodically to see if you still have a valid payment method, I don’t know. I guess I’ll find out in a while.

I love and hate this time of year. It’s really nice weather for riding bikes, or for doing anything outside. It sucks because of the spiders doing their ballooning thing. I ride and walk through more spider webs than I can count.

I don’t know how this little fucker got into my car, but it was promptly removed. I didn’t kill it. I put on my yard gloves and kinda snatched it from the middle of the web, then relocated it to the flowerbed. Hopefully it won’t be there again tomorrow. If so, I’m going to kill the hell out of it.

I better get to bed. I have forklift “training” tomorrow morning.

It’s a rainy day, which blows, because I’m ready to ride my new mountain bike. I obviously can’t because the trail is too wet. Stupid rain. I bet if I didn’t have a mountain bike it would be totally dry.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Lately I’ve been busy studying for the Security + certification that I have to get for work. I’m pretty ready, I think. It’s a slippery slope. Just when you think you’re ready, you take a pre-test and you score a little less than you would like. The truth is there’s no telling what questions will be on the test. All you can do is study everything and hope you get questions about topics you remember. We had a bootcamp this week, but that was A LOT of information in a very short amount of time.

I haven’t scheduled my test yet. I was going to schedule it for tomorrow, but I think I’m going to wait until early next week. Hell, who knows, I might decide to try and schedule it for tomorrow afternoon and get it over with. I will flip a coin later.

As much as you want to wish me good luck, please refrain. It’s bad juju.

Update: there are no available test slots for tomorrow (12 Sep), so it looks like I have a couple extra days to study

So that brings me to this: if you scrap your gas guzzler for an electric car that you have to charge using fossil fuels, does that really solve the problem? It sounds like trading one evil for another. I could be wrong. I haven’t done any research to find out how the electric companies generate their power, but I think it’s a very valid question, AND an electric vehicle is not the solution unless it’s mostly solar powered (or I guess you could get your own windmill to charge the car). Discuss amongst yourselves.
