Shaving my Head for Cancer research
March 14th, 2008
Friends and Loved Ones,
St. Baldrick’s is the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. The St. Baldrick’s name is a whimsical twist on St. Patrick’s Day. At St. Baldrick’s events (no longer just in March!), brave volunteers have their heads shaved bald, raising funds for childhood cancer research. Like runners in a marathon, “shavees” collect donations from friends, family and associates. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation receives these funds and makes grants to experts to find new and better cures for fighting kids cancer.
The shaving will take place March 30th.
Any amount will help.
Thank you for being a hero for kids with cancer!
Here is the link to my personal page for online donations and for downloading the donation form. You can donate online without even having to get out your checkbook. I know it might not seem like much of a stretch for me to shave my head, but I’m doing it for the kids this time, and I’m taking it all the way down with a razor. It’s for a great cause. Cancer is something that nobody should have to deal with, especially children. Please help if you can, and feel free to pass the email along if you know someone who might like to support the cause.
Additionally, I’m going to hold a drawing. Everyone who donates will get his or her name put in a hat. I will draw a name and that person gets to shave my head. How much fun will that be?
Sincerely,
Aaron and the kids
