Well, my power went out about midnight, and it was still off when I left for work. Luckily it was back on when I got home from work. There was a casualty: my cable modem. I don’t know why it fried. It was plugged into the surge protector just like the router, and the router is fine. Good thing I have an “extra” cable modem.

Months ago I was having connection problems. Cox told me it was my cable modem, so I went and bought a new one. I get it home and it still doesn’t work. Turns out it was a bad splitter. So instead of fucking with it, I just kept the new modem and set the old one on a shelf. So I got out the old modem and now I’m back online (after calling Cox). Yay, or something.
