OKC Museum of Art
August 25th, 2006
Beth and I went to the museum today, and then we went and had dinner with Tracy. I made it a point to bring my camera this time, but I didn’t take a whole lot of pictures. I tend to try and make it fast if i go with someone so I don’t fee like they’re waiting aroud for me. Thanks a lot, Beth. I’m totally kidding, but I did spend a lot less time than I would have if I’d been alone. We missed the tombs and Mummies exhibit by 3 weeks. I’ll have to go back and catch that.
Walking through the museum, I noticed that a lot of the little papers said “donated by so and so,” or “a gift from so and so.” I told Beth that I’m going to frame one up and give it to them as a gift. Then they can put it up on the wall with a sign that says “a gift from the artist.” She asked if I thought they’d put it up, and honestly I thought not, but then we walked into the next room…
It’s a goddamn exhibit of “Street Photography.” It was put together by some dude from NYC, and I think most of the photographers were students at NYU at one time or another. It seemed that 85% of the photos were taken in NYC, so it’s more a location thing than anything. I’ve got stuff good enough to go up on those walls. I might have to sneak one of mine in there and put it right up. I bet nobody would even know the difference.
So now in no particular order, are some of the pictures I took today. You know I totally laid down on my back under the Chihuly ceiling and took pictures from the floor. Here are the pictures:
