The Orphanage
May 29th, 2006
I met Becky at some old burned down orphanage today. It was pretty freaky. I wish there was more light in there. I knew I should have brought a tripod. Some of the pictures that turned out ok are here. It was like 84 degrees when we got there, and then 45 minutes later when we came out it was like 96ish. I definitely want to go back when it’s not so freakin hot.

It looked like it was waiting to be torn down. Most of the windows had been boarded up. There was no lock on the front door from when the police or whoever kicked it in. The stairs were ready to collapse. I didn’t know if he owned it or he was squatting, neither would have surprisde me.

Btw, what’s up with the dolls face, you take a picture of the body but not the face? Was it all hideous and melted? though I must say I like the shot of the broken down door and rubble covering the floor. And it’s got a good design, too bad it’s burned down I’d almost want to live there (not as an orphan mind you).

i think you know me well enough to know that if the doll’s head was all burned up and melted i would have definitely taken a picture of it. the doll was headless.
