I know I’ve probably used that title before, but I’m using it again. Last night I went to Staples to ship the racetrack back to the place I ordered it from. Shipping was going to cost $42 so I told them I’d figure something else out. I think it’s ridiculous to spend that much to ship an item. It cost $60 which I will be refunded, and I don’t get reimbursed for shipping, so that doesn’t seem like a very good deal to me. If I pack the item in a 12×12x12 or smaller box, whish I think might be possible, it should cost no more than $15 for shipping. That sounds a lot better to me.
It turned out not being a wasted trip. I totally scored a 120gb 7200rpm 8mb cache hard drive for $60 (no mail in rebates). I had the manager check to see if they had any more but that was the last one. I spent the $42 I saved by not shipping the racetrack on a hard drive instead. Does that really make financial sense? Who cares. It was too good a deal to pass up. Merry Christmas to me!
p.s. One more thing to pick up and my xmas shopping is done. Not bad considering I started Sunday.

It wouldn’t have been a wasted trip because I got exactly what I needed! That counts right?
I practically got all my shopping done, start to finish, on x-mas eve-eve!
(and not because I’m a procrastinator…oh, wait…)
