time zones
September 22nd, 2004
in my office there are clocks for each of the 4 time zones in the US, and one for puerto rico. i fuckin hate it. every time i look up to see what time it is, i always see the one for eastern time or puerto rico first, not realizing that’s it’s the wrong clock. then i get all excited thinking it’s already 1:25, only to disappoint myself when i then realize that’s it’s only 12:25. this is bullshit.
the entire world should have only one time zone, or they need to get rid of 4 of those clocks, unless they’ll let me come in at 7am pacific time, and leave at 4pm puerto rico time. that’d actually be 9am-2pm central time. i don’t think that would be a bad schedule.

LOL you are a funny man. Thanks for that laugh, cause I’m in the middle of statistics and I needed it!!! Think we could do a stats prob based on the time zones?????

If you do find a way to get the above desired work schedule please let me know so i can implement it here too!

you could just go to one clock in the office set to Zulu/Universal Time/Greenwich Mean Time. then you’d have to go through all the bullshit of remembering how far off of Zulu you are, taking into account whether you are on daylight savings time or not. in the Central zone, you are UTC -5 (-6 DT). now, use some quick public math to figure out what time it is at the Greenwich Meridian. i have to use this every day for flight planning purposes, and it suuuuucksss, especially when planning routes for flights that cross multiple time zones (all of them).
