Little monsters

First of all, Happy Leap Year (day?)! wouldn’t it have been cool to be born on Feb 29? I’d be 7 years old today…

we went to see Monsters Inc on Ice yesterday. why do i always want to type it “Monster’s?” There’s no possession, it’s plural. i always have to go back and correct that. anyway, it was pretty fuckin cool. i think mashell and i enjoyed it more than samantha. not that she didn’t have a good time or anything, but you can only have so much fun when you get SO into it, and start dancing around so much that you hit your elbow multiple times on the cup holder of the made-for-adults seat that you’re sitting in. anyway, we all had fun, and we saw rob, Katie, and Elizabeth there. when were on the way, they were doing road work on the eastbound lanes of the highway. that shit was backed up like 3 miles. we remembered to take the MLK bridge home and bypass all that shiat. i made a web gallery of the pics that i took yesterday, and posted them here.

I just installed Microsoft Office 2003. I haven’t used it enough to decide if i like it, but it looks VERY cartoonish, just like when Windows XP first came out. the only program I’ve used so far is Outlook, and i haven’t gotten that deep into it yet, but first glance it looks kinda alright. it categorized your mail based on date, like everything from today, everything from yesterday, everything from last week, 2 weeks ago, etc… i think that might be an advantage, but time will tell. I’m sure you can turn all that shit off. since that’s the office program that i use the most, if it sucks, it’s going away as soon as i make that determination. the coolest thing so far is that there’s an outlook icon in the systray. when you minimize outlook it disappears, and you just have to click the icon in the systray to restore it. i always liked programs like that. however, none of my goddamn contacts work and it’s pissing me off. i might just create a new PST file and copy all that shit in there and see if that takes care of it. here’s a screenshot of the new outlook if your’ curious what it looks like.

my new hard drive should get here tomorrow or tuesday. i ordered an 80 gig to replace my 20 gig C: drive, so i can install a few more games. speaking of games, i played the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo and it kicks ass! i can’t wait for that game to come out. i might actually go buy that one. here’s a list of mirrors to download the demo. it sucks because there’s only one map for each game type, but i believe it’s going to be a kick ass game, just like all the others.

in using Zempt the last few days, i am really starting to like it. i do wish it would upload files, but i guess that’s what FTP is for. I need to hook the bug up so he can actually utilize his blog, because right now it’s just sitting there. i went to walmart today, and only spent $46. that’s one hell of an accomplishment. i got a couple boxes of tea bags and a tea pitcher, among other things. my iced tea is in full effect! it doesn’t quite reach sonic iced tea standards, but it’s damn close. i will enjoy drinking my iced tea out of my 4 new tumblers that i got for 88 cents (for all 4). walmart kicks ass!

i can’t think of anything else to bore you all with, so I’m bout to sign off, since it’s past my bedtime. I’m thinking about redoing the database for this blog and making it mysql. see, when you send a notification, it’s not actually from an address. it just kinda writes it in there, so some ISPs, namely the government and a few others, won’t let the email go through because it’s not technically from somebody. if i redo the database, i can use the other mail script, which actually sends from an address, so it will be more likely to slip through to those standoffish domains. anyway, you’re probably asleep by now, and i should be too. good night.
